Tweedsyde, consisting of Peter Walker (baroque violin, 18th century Highland bagpipe, border/reel bagpipes, lowland bagpipe, scottish small pipe, baroque flute, mandora, clàrsach, vocals) and Jim Stimson (baroque guitar, bandora, tenor baroque cittern, renaissance lute, bass lute, baroque lute, bass viola da gamba), explores Scottish early music from the earliest written and traditional sources through its transformation into its modern form in the late 18th century, performing period music on period instruments with a mix of contemporary and historic orchestrations.
